How to use DMC Soluble Canvas


Instructions to use Soluble Canvas:










1. Items required to complete your stitching:

DMC Stranded Cotton
A 26 ct cross stitch needle
An embroidery hoop
A piece of Soluble Canvas.










2. Put the Soluble Canvas on your fabric where you want to do your stitching. With large stitches tack into place.

Caution : Ensure the tacking line is larger than the design you will stitch inside.








3. Place the fabric and Soluble Canvas together in an embroidery hoop and cross stitch by following the instructions on the cross stitch chart.










4. When the embroidery is finished, carefully cut and pull out the tacking stitches.












5. Put your stitched fabric in a bowl with a large volume of hot soapy water (between 40 and 50°C). Let it soak for 5 to 10 minutes and stir itgently from time to time. The Soluble Canvas will melt and disappear! Rinse with plenty of hot water.

For drying, follow the care instructions of your garmen

The washing tests have been conducted with embroideries made with DMC Stranded Cotton. DMC guarantees that the DMC threads* colours will not run at a temperature of 40°C, not for other brands.

* except for DMC Light Effects Threads , washable at 30° C maximum
