Cable, Bobbles and Beads with Donna Jones

10am - 4pm Saturday 9th November 2019

Neath Valley Wools, 75 High Street, Glynneath. SA11 5AL

Cable knitting has a long tradition and its enduring appeal never seems to fade. Cable knitting can seem very complex, but is in fact made using just a few simple techniques which can be easily mastered.

With this workshop you’ll gain a thorough introduction to using and combining these techniques for great textural effects and improve your confidence in undertaking such projects.

Suitable for all knitters who can knit and purl.

On the day we’ll cover:

  • what is cable knitting, and the materials and tools needed.

  • twisted stitches, cable crosses and travelling cables

  • how to read charts for textured & cables stitches

  • embellishing with bobbles and beads

  • common problems and fixes

  • cabling without a cable needle

Provided for you:

• full tuition

• yarns & beads for your samples.

• a workshop pack with training materials

• a complementary pattern for a cable project designed by Donna

Light refreshments are also provided (please let Neath Valley Wools know if you have any food allergies or intolerances).

A meal and any additional snacks can be purchased from the high street, or you may prefer to bring your own packed lunch.
